TRENT GOLD

Chief Trent Gold is a senior consultant at Omnipoynt Solutions. Gold retired from the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) within the Border Patrol as an Associate Chief after a 32-year career with the agency. At Border Patrol Headquarters in Washington, DC, Chief Gold led the Western Corridor of the Law Enforcement Operations Directorate. The corridor is comprised of ten sectors that span 3,200 miles along the Canadian and Mexican borders with the United States and is patrolled by 12,000 Border Patrol agents. During his tenure at Border Patrol Headquarters, Chief Gold also commanded the Atlantic Corridor and the Field Communications Branch.

Gold also served as the CBP Deputy Director, Secure Border Initiative (SBInet), Environment, Land, and Engineering Division. He led the validation and assessed tactical infrastructure projects and situational awareness (SA) technology capability for effective decision making, rapid actions, and appropriate mission execution through a Common Operational Picture (COP). The integrated SA application supported the CBP mission of responding to threats and hazards to the United States by collecting, sharing, and displaying multi-dimensional information through technology platforms.

After his career with CBP, Trent was the senior interdiction and border security analyst at the Department of Defense, U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) in Tampa, Florida. He is a subject matter expert supporting the Plans, Strategy, and Policy Directorate (J5-C), Partner Nation Capability Branch (PNCB). The PNCB conducts operations and activities to build partner capacities and increase the capability to combat transnational crime, counter the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, manage the consequences of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) incidents, and increase border security interoperability with United States and partner nation forces.

Chief Gold completed a capstone assignment as the Director of Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Training and Development at the Global Borders College, in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Mr. Gold is a graduate of the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business—CBP Leadership Institute. He is also a Certified Acquisition Professional (Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative) and is certified by DOD or DHS for Incident Command, National Infrastructure Protection, Intelligence Processes, Counterintelligence, Insider Threats, Security Cooperation, and Security Operations. At Omnipoynt Solutions, Trent consults on operations management, border and customs applications, security technology, risk management, law enforcement, and WMD.
